Nicolai Howalt & Trine Sondergaard, “Nicolai is holding Sigrid” (2000). “Nicolai is holding Sigrid, our first child,” Howalt and Sondergaard told me. “ ‘N+T’ is a series of photographic images that we have made since we met, in 1998, and became a couple. During the first years of our relationship, we photographed each other and our life together. We made images of everything that deals with our life together; the images represent life as we felt and experienced it. We tried to work without censorship and we made images of situations, details, and moments that are not normally photographed or represented in a family album.” From the series “N+T,” courtesy of the Bruce Silverstein Gallery & Martin Asbæk Gallery.
